Not city slickers: Urban Woodsmen
Observe fire building, wood splitting and campfire cooking outdoors at the Anita Gorman Center in Kansas City, Mo.
City slickers get an opportunity to go lumberjack at the Urban Woodsman Special Event in Kansas City, Mo. This activity, for adults and children age 10 and up, will highlight the numerous resources trees provide. Winter camping skills including fire building, wood splitting and campfire cooking will be demonstrated. In addition, you can learn about processing tree sap into syrup. It’s all outdoors, so dress for the weather. Registration is required (click on the times below to register or call the center).
